California trip

Last Friday we started our trip to Southern California with our family. We drove half way to Las Vegas and spent the night. We then drove into Bakersfield Saturday morning. As with all drives, we had some good times and some bad. We reached bakersfield at lunch and met some of Eric's family for lunch at our favorite mexican restaurant. later Saturday night the Neville's were having their annual summer party which we were able to attend. Bryson had so much fun. they had carnival games, swimming, a magician, and animals - a lemer, ferret, monkey, and black bear.
The main reason we went down was to attend the blessing of Aston. Eric's sister Lori had a baby girl in late April and she was being blessed on Sunday. It was nice to be with Eric's family that is still down in Bakersfield that we don't see often. It was nice to also meet the newest addition to the family.

On Monday we went down to Redondo beach and to LA. This was Carley's and Madalyn's first time to the beach. madalyn slept the whole time so I didn't get a good picture of her, but Carley loved the water and sand.


Then on Tuesday we went to Disneyland. It was fun to take the kids.

Luckily Eric's mom was driving back to Utah with us so she went to Disneyland with us, which helped a lot to have an extra adult. We got to the park at 8:00 when it opened and didn't leave until 11:00 pm. It was a long day, but full of fun. Carley loved seeing the princesses and Minnie Mouse.



Bryson loved the pirates of the Caribbean ride, Star Tours, and Space Mountain.

Maddie was good and slept most of the time in the snuggli.

Carley crashed around 8:00 during the Enchanted tiki room show and Bryson was starting to fall asleep around 10:00 when we were standing in line to go on Peter Pan's flight.

it was a great day. It was also nice to be able to do the fast pass and a baby pass. Bryson was able to go on most rides 2 times in a row without having to wait in long lines
Wednesday was the worst day. We were driving home the whole way which normally takes about 12 hours, well we had to wait another 4 hours in our car for a 50 car pile up to be cleared. We left around 8:00 in the morning and didn't get home until 1:30 in the morning. it was a long day in the car and the kids had their good and bad moments.
One thing we did do a lot on the trip was go to IN - N -OUT. We went going down in Las Vegas and coming back. And then we went to one when we drove to LA. We all love that place.
