Bryson's update

Things have been busy around here the past month and I haven't had time to blog. I have decided to do an update for each of the kids over the next few days. Bryson has lost his two bottom teeth in the month of November.

He lost his first tooth November 9th and his second one on November 23rd. He was so excited for the tooth fairy to come.

(this picture is with the second tooth really loose and being pushed down by his tongue, about 2 hours later the tooth fell out. )
Also both of his permanent teeth are already starting to come in.
We got some snow on November and Bryson was outside playing before school started.

Carley had a dance recital and at the end Santa came so he got to go sit on Santa's lap.

Last In-N-Out finally opened in Orem the middle of the month and we finally went today for lunch. Bryson loves the hamburgers.

Bryson loves school and is doing so well. He loves to read and is on reading level M which is 3rd grade reading level. He also loves to write. He writes us notes all the time telling us he loves us. But we have also get some notes telling us that we don't love him because we sent him to time out. It makes us laugh. Bryson is such a fun kid and a great joy in our family.

Halloween 2009

My sister-in-law and her kids surprised us and came to visit us on Friday before heading back to Colorado on Saturday. We were all able to go to my cousins Halloween party.

Saturday morning we carved pumpkins.

Bryson was darth vader.

Carley was Cinderella

Madalyn was a butterfly

Grandma was able to come and have dinner with us and go trick-or-treating.

The kids had a blast trick-or-treating and they will be on a sugar high for the next week, or bugging me to have

San Diego

Bryson had fall break last week and we decided to meet my parents in San Diego and have a vacation. We got in late one night so the next day we took it easy and walked along the beach. We saw sea lions and seals. The kids loved chasing the seagulls. I love the beach and the ocean. (Be prepared for lots of pics)

legoland

One of the highlights of the trip for the kids was to go to Legoland. It was amazing to see all the stuff made out of legos. Bryson had so much fun

San Diego Temple

We stayed close to the temple and Eric and I were able to go do a session in the morning while my parents watched the kids and then later we took everybody. It is so beautiful and the blue skies made it perfect.

Beach

What would be a trip to California without going in the water at the beach. Maddy had been to the beach in June, but she slept the whole time and didn't get in the water so this time we got her in the water before she took a nap. She wasn't sure of the water or the sand.

She would rather snuggle with Dad

Bryson loves the water

Carley cried for the first 10 minutes while we tried to make her go into the water. Finally she went in and we couldn't get her out. She loved to find seashells and run away from the waves

Bryson also loved to go into the water and jump over the waves

Not the sunniest day at the beach, but it was still warm and the ocean is always fun to play in

Sea World

Our last day we went to Sea World. In the morning it was sunny so Byrson and I went on the rapids ride and got drenched. We thought we would dry off in the sun, but then it became overcast and we were cold. My Mom bought him new shorts and shirt from sea world so he would be warm. We fed and pet the dolphins - one of my favorites. We also pet the sting rays. Carley and Bryson loved watching the shamu show and the sea lion and otter show. We had a fun day

fly away

So we took the butterfly outside and try to let him fly away, but he didn't fly. We think it was too windy. He just stayed attached to the lid and then to the stick. - they have really sticky feet and wrap their legs around to hold on. After 20 minutes or so I finally took him to the neighbors flowers. Hopefully he will find a home and fly south for the winter. He was very beautiful when he opened up his wings

Butterfly

A caterpillar/butterfly is one of the most amazing/wonderful/beautiful creatures on this earth. For those of you who follow this blog if you look back a couple posts ago you will see the caterpillar we found and how it formed a chrysalis. Today it emerged as a butterfly. We will be releasing it when Bryson gets home from school. An interesting fact I didn't know was that the green chrysalis turns black before the butterfly is ready to come out. The chrysalis is really clear and you see the butterfly/caterpillar in the inside. (As a side note, I set my video camera up at about 11:00 on a tripod to try and catch the butterfly coming out. I didn't push record because I didn't know how soon the butterfly was going to come out so I figured I would check on it periodically. I checked on it around 12:00 and then went and folded laundry and took care of Maddy and Carley, I looked at it again around 1:30 and it had emerged from the chrysalis. I was bummed I didn't get it on video.) Bryson still has his butterfly that will come out in a couple of days.

Starting to turn black

You can see the orange of the wings inside the chrysalis.

Busy week

We have had a busy week this past week. Sunday we celebrated Ann's birthday. It was also nice to have Bryson's primary program the same day so Ann and Kevin came to church with us and then Sarah and Bryan came up later for dinner. We had her favorite of orange/ginger salmon. We also surprised her with her favorite cake from Glaus Bakery in SLC, it is a chocolate rum cake.

I couldn't find any normal candles, but I had two number ones so that is what we put on the cake. Bryson and Carley helped Grandma blow the candles out.
Tueday Bryson had a soccer game and Eric is the coach. He has moved up a level and he is one of the smallest, and not scoring as many goals like last year, but he still loves to play and has fun.

Wednesday I decided to start a science experiement in our house so we went and looked for catepillars in milk weed plants. We were lucky and found 2 - one for Carley and one for Bryson. Here are the first couple of days. Carley's ate the first night we got it and then when we woke up in the morning I looked all over the jar and I couldn't find it. Finally I looked on top of the lid. There it was. It stayed straight the whole day and when I looked right before dinner it had dropped into a "J" shape. This morning it had a green cacoon around it.

Bryson's is still eating milk weed in its jar.

It is so fun to watch them progress. The kids get excited too!! I remember when I did this as a kindergartener in California.

This morning I went and helped the PTA and walked with Bryson at his schools walk-a-thon. It was a lot of fun.

Today I am working on drying two boxes of pears and picking my tomatoes and canning them

Madalyn eating peaches

We got peaches from Sierra last weekend and everybody loves them, including Madalyn. We love these little net/food holders. You put friut in them and then they suck the juice and fruit out, but can't choke. One of her bottom teeth has finally come through. One down, how many more to go? (too many)

Carley's update

So Carley has started dance and preschool this past month. She loves going and dancing and she loves going to prechool

This picture is from Swiss Days a couple weeks ago. i worked in the scone booth cutting dough and Carley helped. She loved playing in the dough and flour
